Australia’s hottest fashion designers team with Variety for 2009 Chari-Tees

The 2009 Variety Chari-Tees will be heating up the fashion runway when Australia’s hottest designers join forces with Variety Queensland to each design a limited edition tee-shirt to be retailed nationally.

The highly-anticipated 2009 Chari-Tees Collection will boast designs from some of the most respected names in the fashion industry such as Akira, Camilla Franks, Easton Pearson, Eeni Meeni Miini Moh, Jayson Brunsdon, Jonathan Ward, Juli Grbac, Little Joe – Gail Elliot and Trelise Cooper.

This year’s Chari-Tees will also feature the inaugural children’s collection, designed exclusively by two-time National Retail Association award-winning children’s wear label Eeni Meeni Miini Moh and international fashion designer Trelise Cooper.The Variety Chari-Tees initiative is the brainchild of Variety Queensland Chair of Ladies of Variety Events (LOVE) Danielle Harris and her mother, style doyenne Di Cant.


“Variety Queensland values the relationship we have with some of Australia’s most celebrated fashion icons. We are honoured to be able to work with them again to launch the 2009 Chari-Tees nationally,” Ms Harris said.

“We have an amazing line up of designers this year who will showcase their creative flair by weaving fashion, fun and philanthropy together to raise funds for sick and disadvantaged children across Queensland.

“We look forward to unveiling the ten unique designs including a stylish mini-tee just for kids by Eeni Meeni Miini Moh, a beautifully quaint tee by internationally-acclaimed label Easton Pearson, a delicate heart-felt offering from Little Joe and eclectic creations from Jayson Brunsdon and Camilla Franks.“Chari-Tees is a fantastic opportunity for our community to lend a hand to disadvantaged children in Queensland in a fun and fashionable way. The 2009 Variety Chari-Tees available for sale from the Variety Queensland website. The tee-shirt retails at $29.95 for adults and $19.95 for children.

In 2008, Variety Queensland raised more than $2.7 million to help 6,000 special needs children by increasing their quality of life through aid learning, wheelchairs, laptop computers and educational equipment.
