Ni hao from Hong Kong dear Di,

How well I remember the steamy, wet, misty days of May/June in this fabulous city, where the harbour disappears into a murky haze and trying to find a taxi almost an impossible task!

Perfect weather for shopping my friend, and the promise of a steaming bowl of noodles at the end of the day.

IFC Mall is Hong Kong’s newest shopping mecca. Floor after floor of the most beautiful boutiques, and cleverly designed with many wonderful restaurants and chic coffee shops to add to the pleasure of a day spent there.

A colour palette for everyone; beautiful, frothy white cottons and laces, zingy brights, and the most exciting combination of all , white, red and French blue. It was everywhere!

Shoes and bags to die for…glossy patents , and metallics too, especially silver.

Bags were big and bold, shoes high and sassy.

My favourite of all…Ralph Lauren.

Exquisite garments in French and cobalt blues, oatmeal with frothy white blouses and knits, and bold ethnic accessories.

Madonna’s new H & M store in Central has been a huge opening success. Great, affordable high street designs.

The young Chinese girls so clever at putting their own twist on summer fashion, while the business girls look sensational in their pared down styles for the office.

Immaculate hairstyles, understated makeup and always, quality accessories.

Fashion is very much alive and well in Hong Kong dear Di…time you and I met up there again? Now, where’s that bowl of noodles !
