POSTCARD from NEW YORK
2nd february 2007
Caio Di,
Prada in Soho is still the best store we have seen. The clothes aregorgeous. Lots of primary colours and metallics. The styles looksimple
atfirst glance but the detailing is actually amazing. Lots of shift and
smockshapes. We were is store the same day as Miuccia Prada herself. She
was
infor the day to supervise merchandising.Alexander McQueen has the most beautiful clothes we have seen. Hisbutterfly and moth prints are fabulous. The one shouldered butterflydressis devine. There was the most beautifully cut jacket I have ever seenin
agorgeous green.
The skull prints are still about from last season.
McQueenhas lovely silk scarves in pastel colours.Barneys is still the best for an overall selection of moderncollections.Nina Ricci was devine. Marc Jacobs has been interesting everywhere.
Monclerhad a beautiful puff jacket in flesh with black beads. There is alot
ofdetail in sleeves, from puff to extendedshoulders with pleated
details, ruffles, lace trims and ribbons. We saw new season Easton Pearson in a shop on Houston Street sittingbeautifully beside Alexander Mcqueen. The assistant told us it was
verypopular and was thrilled that we knew the girls and had, in fact had
dinnerwith one of them before we left Australia.
Looking forward to your arrial friday.
Talk soon. Loving New York
